Privacy policy

This page explains what happens to the information you give us. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@uruguaycheck.com and we will answer.

Who is responsible

This site is operated from Uruguay under the name Uruguay Check, and its operator is the data controller for the information described below. Contact: hello@uruguaycheck.com. The identity and postal address of the operator responsible for your data are provided on request to a data subject or to a supervisory authority, by writing to that address.

What we collect

• Your interview answers. The full chat transcript, and a structured summary of it (nationality, income source, family situation and so on) that the report is built from.
• Your email address, which you give us at the end of the interview so we can deliver the report.
• How you arrived — the referring website and any campaign tags in the link you clicked.
• Aggregate usage statistics, which contain no personal data and no cookies.

We never see or store your card details. Payment happens entirely on Polar's systems.

Why we collect it, and on what basis

• To write and deliver your report — the transcript, the profile and your email. Legal basis: performance of the contract you enter when you buy the report.
• To improve the questions and the report — we read transcripts to find where the interview fails. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the service.
• To know which articles bring readers — referral and campaign data. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

If you start an interview and never buy, we still hold the transcript and, if you gave it, your email. You can ask us to delete both at any time.

Who else processes it

• OpenAI — runs the models that conduct the interview and write the report. Your answers are sent to their API.
• Polar — sells the report to you as merchant of record, takes the payment and holds your billing details under its own privacy policy. We receive your email and the fact that the order was paid; we never receive your card details.
• Supabase — stores transcripts, profiles and orders.
• Vercel — hosts the site.
• Plausible Analytics — aggregate traffic statistics, no cookies, no personal data, no cross-site tracking.

These providers operate outside your country, including in the United States. Transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses.

The provider list

If you ask for our list of Uruguayan accountants, notaries and lawyers, we send the list to you and nothing leaves in the other direction: we do not pass your name, your email or anything you told us to any of them. You contact whoever you choose, directly, and from that point they handle your data under their own obligations.

How long we keep it

Transcripts and profiles: up to 24 months, so we can improve the service. Orders and payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require. Delete requests are honoured before these periods end.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to our use of it, or ask for it in a portable format. Write to hello@uruguaycheck.com and we will act within 30 days. If you are in the UK or the EU and you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your national data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.

Cookies

We set no advertising or tracking cookies. The site stores your language choice and your referral source in your own browser so the chat works across pages; that data stays on your device until you clear it.

Children

The service is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes and anyone with an open order is emailed.
